Happy Last Week of School! These are the important things you need to know:
* Our End of the Year Picnic is on Thursday, June 15, from 10 am - 11 am. Thank you all who signed up to bring food and supplies. If you haven't signed up for anything, there are just a few slots available. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c044caead2ca3f94-montessori We will sing, then eat outside, picnic style, weather permitting. Then you may take your child to the playground if you'd like. In case of rain, we will have to picnic inside the classroom, or the gym if available. **The Kindergarten graduation is on Friday, June 16, after Mass. Mass begins at 9 am. Our whole class will attend Mass. Kindergartner parents, please have your child in Sunday best. All others, please wear uniforms. This is our last day of school. ***Although our last day of school is on June 16, there is a picnic on Tuesday, June 20. Due to the nature of the games and the schedule, only Kindergartners are invited back to school on that day. There will be group games and a noon dismissal. ****Report cards are going home this week. *****Please drop off used uniforms to donate in the basket outside of the classroom.

On Tuesday, Humza Siddiqui's mother, Erum Quereshi, prepared an Eid feast for the Montessori class! We sampled sandwiches, samosas, watermelon, and dates! We read a book about the Muslim holiday of Ramadan, and its end, Eid ul-Fitr. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!
Hello and Happy June! Our school year is rapidly coming to a close, but we are busier than ever! Our first bit of news is that our Montessori Kindergarteners are having a graduation ceremony after Mass on June 16. More details to come on this soon! On Thursday, June 15, from 10-11 am, our whole class will celebrate with an End of the Year Picnic. It will be a potluck picnic, held in our outside area and classroom. All families are welcome! Look for the poster outside our room! We are also going to take a class photo on Tuesday, June 10. Please make every effort to have your child present that day. We are still working on learning about new concepts in the classroom. This month, just like outside, our room is teeming with new life! The D'Andrea family generously brought us tadpoles to observe, and we are learning a lot about what they eat, how they live, and how they will develop. We are also learning about seeds and planting. We have sprouted corn seeds in a clear sealable bag, so that we could see the life that is just waiting to emerge from the seed in the correct conditions. Then we planted those seeds in our garden plot, and we will look for the sprouts to poke through the soil in the next weeks.
Lastly, Miss Teresa, Miss Krista, and Miss Rachel want to thank you for sharing your children with us this year. As always, we appreciate the trust and support of our families! |
