Hello. Today is a bright, sunny day, so maybe spring is actually going to be here! The Montessori class celebrated Earth Day this week by recycling paper. Each child went through our paper recycling "factory", step by numbered step, to turn old paper into new. It was an exciting and hands-on science project that everyone looked forward to. Please remember, we have a service project this month. Care Cases of WNY provides much-needed personal items for foster children. Books, stuffed animals, crayons, and pajamas are just a few things that can be packed into a bag for a foster child who is moving to another home. Donations may be dropped off outside the Montessori classroom, or the table outside the office. We are on a chick watch! The eggs are in the incubator, keeping an appropriate temperature and humidity and regularly turning. Unfortunately, there was a weekend power outage of undetermined length, which may have disrupted their growth. We are praying that the chicks are still developing properly!
We will continue to learn about our Earth, and its land and water forms for the rest of April. Each family should have received an invitation to the Mother's Day Tea. Please return the RSVP card by May 1st. The tea begins after Mass, or around 10:00 am. Children will sit with their classes, but mothers and other guests are welcome to join us at Mass at 9:00 am. The Spring Concert will be held on June 1, at 7:00 pm. As the youngest group, the Montessori class will be the first to sing after the band performs. As has happened other years, we will lead the children back to the classroom after our performance, where you may pick them up. The children have worked very hard practicing with our music teacher, Mr. D. Kindergartners had graduation photos taken on April 18. I apologize for the lack of communication; it was a surprise to all of us! However, we made the best of it, and our Kindergartners smiled and posed in their caps and gowns.
