Miss Krista, Miss Rachel, and I would like to extend a huge and enthusiastic welcome to all of our new and returning Montessori families! Thank you for sharing your children with us!
You all should have received a welcome packet in the mail, including a welcome letter, orientation schedule, snack introductory letter and schedule, phase-in schedule, supply list, and an important information sheet to fill out. Many of your children have had their first lessons already. Next week, beginning September 6, and ending on September 8, we will begin phasing in our 3 and 4 year old students. Phasing in requires some schedule juggling, but it is worth it, especially for a child who is unsure. Each day, the children spend a little longer time in the classroom. Our Montessori Kindergartners will simply begin their regular schedules on September 6. Please note that Wednesday, September 6 and Friday, September 8, are both noon dismissals. September 8 is Special Person Day. If a special visitor would like to bring a student to Mass, please notify the teacher in advance, have the child wear a uniform or Sunday best, and pick them up for Mass at the classroom door. Teachers will not be able to accompany students to Mass on September 8, due to the phasing in schedule. Special visitors are welcome to visit the classroom after Mass. Thank you for your understanding. On September 11, we will begin our normal schedule for all students. This is an exciting time of change and growth, and as such, your child might experience some anxiety and/or tears. A good night's sleep, a calm morning routine, and a cheerful good-bye at the door helps to ease the transition. We'll keep the lines of communication open and get through these early weeks! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call or text me, Miss Teresa, at (716) 435-5783, or you may e-mail me at [email protected]. I reply within a day.
